Delhi Directorate of Education releases circular directing schools to phase out single-use plastic

The Delhi Directorate of Education has directed all government and government-aided schools to eliminate the use of single-use plastics (SUPs). This directive, based on the Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules, 2021, aims to address the environmental hazards posed by SUPs. Schools are advised to adopt eco-friendly alternatives to items such as carry bags, straws, and cups.
