Delhi University plans to appeal to the High Court to overturn a Rs 1 crore compensation ordered for cleaning public property defaced during the recent Students’ Union elections. The court has summoned candidates from the September elections for a hearing on October 28. DU officials stated that the financial burden is substantial, and they cannot expect students to cover the fine.
