Education department offers workers $25000 buyouts ahead of a significant layoff

The Education Department has offered employees buyouts of up to $25,000 ahead of “very significant” layoffs. To qualify, employees must have worked for the federal government for at least three years. However, those who received student loan repayment benefits or certain bonuses are ineligible. It remains unclear if other federal agencies received similar offers.
