Multiple police departments respond to University of Dayton campus on St. Patrick’s Day: But why?

Police responded to large St. Patrick’s Day crowds at the University of Dayton after reports of gunfire near Jasper Street. Officers used tear gas to disperse unruly crowds, leading to five arrests and multiple hospitalizations. Gunshots were fired in a parking lot, injuring an officer during an arrest. Brown Street was temporarily closed but later reopened.
